Prof. Dr. Kiss István

I graduated in 1986 from the Medical University of Pécs, and although the organizational structure and the name have occasionally changed, my sole workplace since then has been the Institute of Public Health at the PTE Faculty of Medicine, where I have been the leader since 2014. I have dealt with numerous areas of public health/preventive medicine, initially with the experimental examination of nutrition and cancer, and the molecular epidemiology of tumors. In the last one or two decades, I have increasingly participated in human epidemiological examinations and health development projects, and I strive to ensure that our institute is as diverse as possible in this field. I see the beauty of this in that health development programs ultimately translate all the knowledge accumulated during preventive research into practice. Thus, beyond hopefully contributing to improving the health status of the population, they fill researchers with joy and satisfaction, who see the fruit of their labor ripen.

By the grace of God, I have been able to follow the life of the Reformed Elementary School from the first steps. In my work, I strive to develop children according to their abilities. I find it important to bring success experiences to students with weaker abilities as well. For this reason, I participated in developmental teacher training at the Eötvös József Pedagogical College and took a teacher qualification exam. On August 1, 2011, I was assigned as an institution leader, so I completed educational management training at the Budapest University of Technology.

In my service as a religious instructor, my goal is for the children, and through them, their parents, to get to know the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, the love and proximity of Lord Jesus.
